Capt Daniel Goodman incredible read/share: Pierre (Peter) Julien Ortiz OBE (July 5, 1913 – May 16, 1988) was a United States Marine Corps colonel who received two Navy Crosses for extraordinary heroism as a major in World War II. He served in both North Africa and Europe throughout the war, as a member of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), operating behind enemy lines several times. He became an American film actor after the war.

Yeah, find the story about him surprising a group of Germans in a restaurant, they'd been deriding the the USMC, her been surprised, I'd read, thatntheydndo so never having met anynUSMC during WW2, imguess they'd forgotten the devil dogs of WW1, or out of arrogance, didn't care, he whipped offnhisncoat, hednhad his entire uniform on, medals and all, he'd been told to wear it, explicitly, as I've understood, to impress the North African and/or European population, the Germans were flabbergasted as he'd offered a toast to the USMC, I did read that, look for it, you'll find it, that was my favorite story about him...
