Thank you, my friend SGT (Join to see) for reminding us that on June 15, 1775, George Washington was appointed commander-in-chief of the Continental Army, the day after Congress established the force.
Out of small beginnings in the French and Indian War George Washington had rose in the ranks of the British colonial Army and was the logical choice to lead they yet-to-formed Continental Army based primarily on his reputation as a soldier and a leader.
It took significant time to develop a standing force capable of fighting and winning against the British and their Hessian mercenaries. Thanks to Washington's able leadership and with the assistance of Prussian drill master Von Steuben in the winter of 1776 the Continental Army took shape...

George Washington is considered one of the best if not the finest revolutionaries. He had to deal with tactical, logistics, medical, and strategic aspects of the campaign. He created an army that incorporated the militia. Ill fed, paid, equipped he also had an army and militia who needed to tend to their farms. He also worked with the French and Spanish to help America to win the war. He had to deal with the tactical, strategic, and logistics.
