Following the decision to do away with the advanced individual training platoon sergeant, the Army began remaking those instructors into drill sergeants on Friday, according to a release from the Army.

I had drill sergeants in AIT. They acted nothing like the ones in basic. Biggest difference is that they had no training responsibilities. That all fell onto the school cadre.

Exactly, thats why I believe it needs to go back to DS outside the the school to do basic soldering and instructors in the school house where they belong.
