Depending on where you will end up living, you may be required to travel to your battle assemblies. You may also be allowed to RST the battle assemblies. If you are on your initial contract, you may very well have to come back to the active drilling guard status after 2 years in the IRR. You will need to sit down with your Commander and have a serious discussion about your options

Just a run down on my story. I will be living in Hawaii and my drill will be in Georgia. Financial I can't afford to go back and forth. To drill and whats holding me back from IST is that I have not yet took a PT test because of Covid.

SPC (Join to see) - You are in luck! Hawaii has a national guard so you can interstate transfer. Just contact your readiness NCO and there are people to handle finding you a unit.

SPC (Join to see) since the ACFT has been put on hold, that shouldn't even be a factor. Shouldn't being the key word. Since there is a NG unit in Hawaii, contact them to see if you can do your RSTs with them, and if they say yes, contact your current unit to ensure they don't have a problem with it. You do the RST, submit a 1380 to your unit for pay. Boom. Point and pay to ensure a good year is still had and that you're still in good standing.

You could go to the enlisted reserves. In Europe, there is are enlisted reserve units.

A few things can happen, your old unit may allow you to drill with another unit for a short time period. If you can't find a unit, you may have to go back to your old unit for drill. You may find a unit and have to be reclassified as they don't have your MOS.

The thing is I been looking into if I have to go back and forth. And the tickets will put me and my husband in Financial Hardship. We just can't afford it.
