Here is a good list of things you can and can't control in the job hunt. One area I really agree with here: Do as much research as you can on the industry you want to work in. Make sure your resume and skills line up with the true demand that is out there.

I can't begin to tell you how many people apply to jobs, and when we ask what do you know about the company, they say nothing. You will earn instant brownie points if you did some research and it shows!

great article...another tip, without lying, make your resume fit the job you're applying to by using the same words in the job description that you did at other jobs
