Since I really want to be a field MP, am I able to choose or request 787 over 795?

You do not get to choose which OSUT company you will be assigned to. Both 787 and 795 will go over the same blocks of instruction. Be open minded and take in as much as you can. Good luck!

They usually will rotate you. Sometimes if you want the field, you’ll have no problem being accommodated. However, be careful what you wish for because once you volunteer to keep going out of garrison and something big happens outside of garrison, you may want a break and can’t get it. So, number one military rule, don’t volunteer for anything. Do your job, but don’t ask for something. Trust me, if you’re an MP for any long length of time, you’ll get all the outside garrison work you want in due time.

You will learn 99% of the same information field and garrison from both training units. Your Permanent Duty Station Unit will most likely rotate between field and road work when you get there. Also curious if the 701st is still a training unit in FLW?
