Eat a DÖner!! Try a lot of food! Go to a bakery. Travel a lot. Go see Würzburg, Nürnberg, Heidelberg especially around Christmas time they have the best Christmas markets ever. Try Glühwein with a shot of amaretto. Go skiing in Austria. Road trip down to Livorno Italy, hop on a ferry and go see Korsika. Born and raised in Germany those are the things I miss the most.

Go off base, meet locals, do stuff with them. In the Navy we never really had too much time on liberty, but meeting all different types of people around the world was the best experience.

Define "fulfill my experience," please.

This could be many things. But, if you want the full experience as much as possible, then I highly recommend you travel as much as you can when you are not on duty. So many countries within just a few hours drive or train ride. If you hear about the GAFB and/or Schützenschnur being offered....TAKE IT.

Experiences such as places to travel, foods to try, what to see in regards of culture and surrounding environments! I am very excited to spend my first assignment in Germany, thank you for the advice!

2LT (Join to see) - Depending on where you end up being assigned....here are the locations I highly recommend:

1) Trier, Germany
2) Garmisch, Germany
3) Koln (or Cologne by English spelling), Germany
4) Munich, Germany
5) If you like beer, then head to Kreuzberg Monastery. Beautiful church and grounds...and the beer is PHENOM
6) Anything along the Mosselle River.
7) Castles. Castles everywhere.
And these are just a FEW of the phenom places in Germany

Food:
Jagerschnitzel. But be careful. This food, while delicious, will get your belt line a little tight.

2LT (Join to see) - And some of the better bars and restaurants I had been to were the ones that not too many Americans went to or knew about.
