I am prior enlisted USAF, honorable discharge, completed my 8 year military service obligation in 2014. Went to school, completed my MS, and now speaking with Army Reserve recruiters about a direct commission as an entomologist. I can’t find information on how long my contract will be. I am not taking a bonus or repaying school loans. Since I already completed an MSO, will I not have mandatory time to serve as an officer? Does this effectively mean I could resign at any time after commissioning or will I be required to serve an additional obligation?
