What music is on your workout playlist? And why can't the Army listen to music during PT?

Although we are capable of shooting a rifle, and running at the same time. Big Army says we are too irresponsible and too much of a hazard to ourselves to use headphones in uniform. Funny thing is when PT'ing on our own in civilian cloths we don't seem to be dying off, makes you wonder.

If your in the gym i wouldnt see why you couldnt. But as far as organized pt it is more of a saftey hazard if you wear headphones because it limits your situational awearness. But i have seen units play music over a loud speaker during pt. Just have to be mindfil of music with explict or racist content when in diverse groups.

I had a SFC in my unit come up to me on a treadmill and tell me to take out my headphones because I was in uniform. I thanked him for cutting my PT session short for the morning went home, showered, ate, and changed.

Some people are nazi's bout them some are not. Ive never had a problem having headphones in while in the gym in pt's. But then again im in an aviation world where everything is more relaxed too.

Never needed to listen to music during put or running. It is better to use your mind . Think that your on the beach with a woman and a drink.
