No. The NG has a very specific mission mandated by law. Also, we are the only military entity not bound by the Posse Comitatus Act. This basically means that we are able to support law enforcement and other civil authorities in cases of emergency. RA (T10) isn’t able to do this.

Also, the reserve component has a full-time capability. It’s called the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Program.

The Reserve and NG was meant to have a trained force ready in case of the shit really hits the fan. What it has turned into as a way to cut defense spending on training. We have been in endless UNDECLARED wars.
