Hello, about two years ago I failed marine corps bootcamp after two weeks and they labeled me with ajustement disorder. I was young and dumb. Now I really want to serve my time and talked to an army recruiterho sent my info out to get a waiver. My question is how long should I expect to wait to get a waiver to re-enlist?

Depends on the RE Code and Separation Code on your DD214 discharge whether or not a waiver is even possible per regulation. Even if possible, no guarantees it will be approved. Those circumstances "adjustment disorder" and "failure to adapt" are tough ones because you already demonstrated that you are unfit for military service during initial entry training. The military does not owe a second chance to someone discharged for those reasons. I am curious to know what you mean by "sent my info out to get a waiver"? Did you present your discharge paperwork to a recruiter to determine in the regulation if a waiver is even possible? Were you screened to determined if you were otherwise qualified? Did you complete an enlistment packet? Did you provide your birth certificate, SS Card, HS diploma, etc.? Did you sign a form to have your MEPS processing records and test scores from your previous enlistment in the USMC transferred to the Army? Have you re-taken the MEPS physical exam? All those things are required prior to even submitting a waiver request. After your waiver packet has been thoroughly reviewed by the recruiting battalion operations section, then an interview with the Battalion Commander is the next step where you present your case. Then a decision is made by the approval authority which usually takes just a day or two. If none of those things have happened yet, then the waiver process has not even begun yet. So you need to be a little more specific about "sent my info out to get a waiver".

Yes I've done all of that already. it is possible to get a waiver for my re-entry code and He already copied all my identity. I already went to meps for a physical in the past so all that is good. All I'm waiting on is the yes or no which is what I'm asking. How long will it take?

So you have been interviewed by the battalion commander, either in person or telephone? The MEPS physical is only good for 2 years so you have been back to MEPS to re-take it? So if you have done everything mentioned above, including the interview with the approval authority, you should have an answer within a day or 2 of that interview.

SFC J Fullerton not the interview and I may have to go back to meps. They got my seperation code and sent it to get either a yes or no if I can enter. That was what I was told. He said after that I'll have to go back to meps to get a physical and so on

Chris Johnston - Then the waiver process hasn't even started. Shouldn't take too long for the rookie recruiter to ask his boss or research the regulations to tell you if a waiver is even possible. I don't understand what it is that has to be "sent out for a yes or no". Everything is spelled out in regulations. If your RE code and sep code are waiverable per the regulation, then the recruiter has to take you through the entire process. You are not even close to that it sounds like. If they aren't calling you to get you in the office to start the stack of paperwork and get you back to MEPS for a physical, then chance are either you are not eligible, or they don't have the time for the red tape it will take and are too busy processing fully qualified people.

Conduct a search for prior service reenlistment waiver, and you'll get a ton of responses. Wait time varies greatly.

What SFC FULLERTON said.
Whst is your RE Code?

And your chances of getting back are slim to none, you can thank Bergdahl for that.

After his case, they started scrutinizing records more.
