How can I renegotiate my contract after having my orders canceled?

I re-enlisted in December 2019, got the email saying my orders to fort benning were canceled due to disbanding I’d engineers there. Talking to retention nco, and due to that I just got flagged a month ago for height and weight, told me to contact branch. Still trying them, seem always buisy. Trying to stabilize at Campbell, but switch brigades, or go to Knox. Any help? Thank you in advance.
Also got a baby due in August, trying to be more of a dad since army looks like there trying to cut down deployments.

Easy fix, you're eligible for a VALRENO, renegotiate your contract to a different location or stabilize. A different unit at your own base can be a bit harder, but it's a possibility. However, no renegotiations can be entertained until your flag is lifted. Also, you can't work this through your branch it has to be worked through your Career Counselor. When you do go to request your renegotiation, it's important that you highlight that you did not lose your assignment for a transferable flag, you lost the assignment due to the unit moving. If you had lost your orders because of an adverse action flag or investigation, then you would not be eligible to renegotiate and would have to try to work an assignment through your branch manager

Not sure how you would be able to re-negotiate your contract unless your re-enlistment was for Benning specific. You can transfer with a Flag for HT/WT. Chances are, Branch will be giving you a new assignment shortly. Just keep trying to contact your BM.

I did re-enlist for frt benning SFC. I just talked to my senior career counselor yesterday and said he isn’t going to do anything with me till I’m off ABCP or unflagged SFC.

Reenlistment renegotiation in this case may not be possible because "disbanding an unit" is not a valid reason that has affected you or your job. These days, it's all about the need of the army. Unless, incentives involved, the Army can relocate you wherever their needs are. Beside, you're not in a bargaining position due to your flag.

USAR (TPU) vs. AC reenlistment are two different worlds. As TPU in the Reserve, you have the luxury of choosing. Eventhough that, it might not be always the case. For example, a TPU, 68W MOS wants to join a specific unit located at Fort Lee with $30k incentive before signing the contract. While on AIT, USARC decides to get rid of that MOS. Well, obviously that's not the Soldier fault. He or she will still have difficulty to collect the $30k from the bonus team. Then, USARC will either try to find a new home unit not too far from the Soldier HOR or the Soldier will be on his or her own to find a unit. In the meantime, Fort McCoy Bonus team is either not paying the incentive or trying to collect back from the Soldier. JAG will be involved... and later on to say "no fault to the Soldier".
For AC and AGR Soldiers, it's where the Army needs are, and regardless of what you've been promised.
