Being in an M1 series tank is heaven compared to the MGS. I loved being out on that. The MGS not so much.

Pulling up in my pig. Black on ammo and watching them run. The great equalizer.

I can attest to pretty much everything that was listed by the author of the piece, I will say however that at no time on any tank I was a crewman on or the TC of did anyone intentionally conduct a Class-I solid download into an MRE bag. Hell no, the smell inside the turret is ripe at the best of times, you pinch it until you can safely dismount and TCB!!!
At no time will there ever be apricots brought onto any WarPig that I was the TC or, extremely bad ju-ju, ain't gonna happen.
New PLs and brand new Soldiers will, at some point, conduct a check for "Soft Spots" on the armor with a ball-peen and a piece of chalk, gather an exhaust sample with a trashbag, and yes a brand new PL will have his cover ceremoniously fired down-range, we always did it during the PLs first Tank Table XII (platoon gunnery as opposed to Tank Table VIII, individual crew gunnery) and it was normally near the end so as not screw up our scoring lol!! After that I, being the smart ass that I am, used my small field pillow to ceremoniously return the pinned-on LTs rank to the Pl surrounded by the entire platoon!

Roger that, no apricots and no number twos in the tank. I've known guys that grabbed the infantry rails and dropped one off the side, but not in the tank.
