As a MOS-T yes, however, you cannot go outside of a 250 mile radius. Anything beyond that would have to be approved by the Commander and they usually only grant beyond 250 only in emergency situations. Please don’t try to sneak and leave (not saying you will) because if you can’t get back in time or it’s found out, they will drop you from the course. Good luck to you....

Thank you SFC Hobbs! So as long as you are in within the radius are you typically allowed to stay off post with family/friends?

That is correct. You have more freedom than the new Soldiers because you’re already MOS qualified to serve, you’re just reclassing. New Soldiers are still learning how to be Soldiers and learning a skill to perform while serving. SSG (Join to see)

And forget about Mexico....
(Seriously, it is off-limits to all students, AIT, MOS-T, BOLC, CCC, WOAC, etc. and yet some still try.)

I would say it depends on the AIT the Leadership, and if someone has recently abused the system and ruined it for you. I was able to take them as initial entry in Eglin AFB in 2011.
