Video: Fight between Army drill sergeant & trainee caught on camera

I think the trainee got off lightly -- and the Drill Sergeant did nothing wrong. You can't try to poke a wet noodle up a wildcat's ass in a phone booth and not expect to get scratched.

In my opinion both need some quality time on the carpet. The trainee obviously has issues with authority, respect and underlying racial problems that make you wonder if you'd want him serving next to you. The DI handled the insult and disrespect in a highly unprofessional manner and made things worse by signaling the troop to come on after he was restrained. Not a good representation of Army Values or the NCO Creed in action.
On a side note, it's odd how the article goes from addressing the event and the impropriety of both Soldiers actions to an unrelated sexual assault incident that occurred in the past . This event had absolutely no relation to sexual assault.

The DS did nothing wrong.
