Welcome to The “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day!

Let’s “Remember Everyone Deployed” today and every day until they come home safely once again!

Good “R.E.D. Friday!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome to the end of another week from the “Colonel’s Foxhole” in The Woodlands, TX — 15 July 2022!

Today’s Message is: “Speak Day!” Why Not?

“How Important is it for a leader to speak clearly and act decisively? The leader is someone who inspires people! Their most powerful tool to gain trust and take appropriate action is how they communicate their message and speak to people with respect! Leaders are always on the stage under the spotlight when it comes to speaking. A true leader usually speaks last, so they can listen to the input and ideas from others. Leader’s actions will always speak louder than words. Are you able to motivate people to action when you speak? — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect you speak clearly, enunciate well, and demonstrate respect to those who you lead, are responsible for including those who advise you. No doubt you act decisively after putting sufficient thought, listening to those who will be impacted, and communicating clearly what your goals and objectives are. I hope that you and I listen well before speaking and that we speak respectfully to everybody we interact with. ‘Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.’ [Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV] my brother-in-Christ SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL

I pray that YOU bless each adopted son and daughter of God who reads or listens to this prayer with respect for each human life and sufficient fruit of the Spirit: goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and grace. Enable each of us to understand the value of human life from YOUR perspective and adopt that as our own. I pray that you and I listen and think before we respond and that we attempt to reduce tension in conversation with those we love as well as strangers. No doubt you realize that controlling our tongue is one of the most challenging aspects of communicating. We each need grace in communication and demonstration of love and compassion in relationships. I expect that you like I have difficulty in controlling our own tongue. Bless each of us with patience as we look at others and endurance in improving our own behavior especially our mouth and tongue. ‘So also, the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. …With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so’ [James 3:5-6, 9-10 ESV]

I lift deployed combat and special operation service members as well as agency personnel who are preparing to launch or actually on operations to interdict, surveil, destroy, and/or capture enemy personnel, intelligence-related materials, weapons technology, and/or terrorism capabilities to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless leaders and special skills members with discernment, an increase of alertness, and sufficient endurance with great combat reflexes and techniques to destroy the enemy’s capabilities and will to fight. ‘standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction’ [Philippians 1:27b-28a, ESV]

I pray for patience, discernment, knowledge and abundant love for parents, guardians, grandparents and extended family who are caring for young children. In this early summer of 2022, when a significant number of people are wearing face masks which hide much of their face, many young children are confused and some fearful since they are inhibited from seeing facial expressions clearly. I pray that each one spending time with young children is reassuring the children that they are loved by action more than words. ‘And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.’ [Mark 10:13-16 ESV]

I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and each will awake refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Thank you my friend and brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see) “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day! for Friday, July 15, 2022 [Ides of July]

“Speak Day!”
My British expatriate parents were well educated and multi lingual. They raised me and my younger sisters to speak clearly and enunciate properly as well as educating us on grammar and definitions of words.
I have long focused on being careful what I say and how I say it.
1. I do my best to respect each person I interact with.
a. That was my attitude as a soldier and is my attitude as a military retiree.
b. Keeping the oaths you take is incredibly important. By God's grace I have kept the oaths I took to heart.
2. As a Christian, I take to heart the admonition of the LORD - The greatest commandment: which is to love God is demonstrated by how we love the people we interact with.

Quotes
1. Albert Einstein 'I speak to everyone in the same way, whether he is the garbage man or the president of the university. '
2. Hal Elrod 'Although actions speak louder than words, I believe it is our intentions that reveal our soul. Refrain from judging others based solely on their words and actions
3. Paul Wellstone 'Never separate the life you lead from the words you speak.'
4. Mother Teresa 'Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.'

Scriptures:
a. Matthew 12:33-35 ESV 'The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Scriptures
b. Ecclesiastes 10:12-14 NASB 'Words from the mouth of a wise man are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him; the beginning of his talking is folly and the end of it is wicked madness. 'Yet the fool multiplies words. No man knows what will happen, and who can tell him what will come after him?
c. Proverbs 17:27-28 'Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent'
d. Proverbs 13:16 'Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly. Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly.
e. 1 Peter 5:5 'Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
f. 2 Corinthians 9:8 'And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
g. Ephesians 4:29-30 ESV Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption’
