Went to the E-6 board, passed, and got my ALC date shortly after. To my surprise, it's not the normal Infantry ALC in Fort Benning but the National Guard/Reserve base of Fort Indiantown Gap, PA. Nobody that I work with has ever really heard of that happening but if HRC says it, it must be true, right? Anyway, I'm just trying to get any information on what I can expect differently there than I would experience at Fort Benning. I know that it is significantly shorter than Benning's ALC (about 2 1/2 weeks) other than that, I've got nothing. Any information helps.

Don’t go to a reserve/guard school expecting lower standards! I did SLC @ Shelby (Maneuver SLC). We had guys from the Ranger Bats there that did and ended up failing out. NCOPD’s are no longer ‘gentlemen’s’ courses. You’re gonna EARN that 1059 should you make it that far.

It’s a great course! You’re going to get a phenomenal amount of information in a two week period from some outstanding instructors. Be a sponge while you’re there. Just another opportunity to learn. Remember.....Benning is just a place like anywhere else. It’s not the location that teaches a course....it’s the people.

Aside from the location you should experience nothing different. TRADIC standards must be met. On the brighter spider there are less mouskitos then in the south. Thank you for your service.
