My wife heard from a military relative that the Army will move you once a year. I have never heard of this and found nothing on any military website. Even ask several NCOs in my company. We are trying to move into a new house in the same city.

Three[3] cases of beer and steaks will get your Army friends to move you. Be sure to hold the beer until you have moved in.

Can I have the Army move my stuff once a year even if it’s not a PCS? | RallyPoint
So, someone keeps telling me I can have the military move my stuff free of charge once a year like a PCS move. I have never heard of this. I am planning to PCS to Korea in January but thought maybe to move my family back to Colorado early so we can buy a house. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Do you mean will the Army pay someone to move once a year? No. The government covers PCS moves. If you move while at your duty station you pay for any costs of that move. Like say I wanted to move off post out of on post housing right now. I pay to hire a moving truck if I needed one. No reimbursement.
If you want to move to a new house, ask some friends with trucks to help you. Or rent a truck.

That’s what I thought since I couldn’t find anything on what my wife heard. That was probably a special circumstance if that really did happen.
