Per SMA, BLC and MLC are going to continue via distance learning. Is that for the current BLC and MLC classes, or any upcoming classes ?

Can I attend BLC via distance learning ? In my unit I have to drive 5 hours to Huachuca, then get bused 13 hours to some reserve base in NM for BLC. Avoiding this would be pretty awesome.

My SSG said that all classes have been suspended. But that contradicts the email that everyone received about it

I can’t speak for BLC, I’m an MLC facilitator and that’s the plan from NCOL-COE. Run DL in the same footprint as the resident course. Since both courses are owned by the same entity I would bet it’s the same for both. Now, the rub comes with NGB for guard guys. I don’t believe they will pay a Soldier for DL. They did at one time, but IIRC NGB said recently that they wouldn’t. I’ve been off all week on cycle break, so there’s no telling what has happened.

SFC Seth Youtsey - We start on a traditional 6 week DL format in May. Still no word on if NGB will play guard Soldiers for completing the course. Back in the day there were electronic based distance learning funds. I don’t know about now.

MSG, You wouldn’t happen to know the process of getting slotted without being promotable (if at all possible) would you?

SFC (Join to see) - easy if you’re a guard dude. If reserve or active, not a clue. When I ran the Infantry schoolhouse I took walk-ones without much care what HRC said. Not in my rating chain and my job is to train Soldiers. Moving to an NCO academy, the thought process is different, plus I just facilitate, not running anything.
The DL course for MLC is the way to go right now. Try asking the schools cat. The answer is no for sure until you ask
Just my 2 cents.
