What should I prepare myself for BLC, and what should I expect from the course?

CPL, you are a TL in an Infantry Company. You should already be doing everything you will "be learning". You should be mentoring the POG's in your class even if they are already E-5's. If you are not board or feel this course is a waste of time for you, I believe your Infantry company has failed you and it might actually be a POG company.

When Coming to Basic Leader Course ensure that you have a understanding of Doctrine not unit SOP. You have to know Doctrine before you can build on SOP and grow from there. Your Best Step would be dive in to the regulation. Read FM 7-22, AR 25-50 and ADP 6-22 if you can get a general understanding of those you can be golden. And like you said APFT is a big one along with Land Nav every BLC grades strictly by the standard

Communication In writing, DNC, STT and leading it. Leading formation, PRT, etc. Army song, The Creed of the Non-Commissioned Officer. Know your regulations. These are a few things to brush up on
