Welcome to this edition of The “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day!

Good “Thursday!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome from the “Colonel’s Foxhole” in The Woodlands, TX — 12 May 2022!

Today’s Message is: “Community Day!” Why Not?

“What makes great community leaders? Most importantly, they care about the people. They have the ability to inspire people, show empathy, communicate with strength and skill, and show pride in their work. Community leaders are the problem solvers and get people to work together for a common goal or purpose. Leadership encompasses leading organizations, communities, and groups of people toward something greater than themselves. Are you ready and willing to build a community?” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect your ability to solve problems has improved over time, I hope you are wise enough to realize that training those who rely on you for leadership, advice and knowledge to develop logical solutions to issues they face is much better for them than solving the problems for them. In all likelihood, you are very effective in leading those who depend on you to develop approaches to complex issues. I expect those who look to you for leadership, advice and friendship appreciate your discernment and decisive approach to make decisions and your focus on training team members to solve complex issues on their own. In May 2022, I hope and pray that each of us who are husbands and wives, widowers and widows demonstrate respect and love appropriately. ‘Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. … Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. [Ephesians 5:15-16; 22- 30, ESV] my brother-in-Christ SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL

I pray for good judgement, logical reasoning, rational thought, humility, and sufficient fruit of the Spirit self-control, faithfulness, compassion, and goodness for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or hears this prayer LORD. ‘For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [2 Peter 1:5-8 ESV]

I pray that leaders of communities from neighborhood through national to international corporations are focusing on improving communications with those in their community as well as neighbors from neighborhood through international. I pray for confidence for decision makers and willingness to accept responsibility for their actions, mistakes, and lack of timely action. Motivate each to share responsibility of success and absorb responsibility for failure and resolve to do better for those they serve. 'So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." [Matthew 7:12 ESV]

I pray that each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who are parents recognize that mental health is more important than physical health for children. I pray that the parents are very capable of teaching and demonstrating reasoning skills in conversation and forming logical arguments to solve issues. I pray that their children learn these important lessons while young. ‘Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.’ [Proverbs 22:6 ESV

I lift trustworthy, honest and capable elected officials, judges, and administrators throughout the nations to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless them with wisdom to solve the issues facing their community; endurance in doing good for those within their jurisdiction; sufficient patience and listening skills to hear what they need to hear; and selfless love to make decisions which are honorable and will bless many without hurting anyone. 'But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith.' [1 Timothy 6:11-12 ESV]

I pray that you and I heed the admonition of the LORD on purpose.
a. ‘But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.’ [1st Peter 2:9 ESV]
b. ‘For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.’ [Ecclesiastes 3:1 ESV]
c. ‘Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.’ [Proverbs 19:21 ESV]
d. 'For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.' [Ephesians 2:10 ESV]

I pray that you and your family members sleep well Thursday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Friday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Thanks for posting and sorry to be late. I had to clear and restart my computer and then reset all the passwords...arrggghhh...
Community. We who served in the military know what a community can accomplish especially when we are united by our goals. I think back on all my jobs and whenever their was a sense of community, what we could and did accomplish was always bigger than you would have expected from the Emergency Room to the military to school counseling and finally to the Red Cross where the sense of "community" is as strong as anywhere I've ever been. People always seem to be looking around for ways to help, information someone might use, etc. I love being part of a community that functions not just for the care of its members but for the care of all.

Sorry to hear about your Computer problems this morning... I know the feeling... It is very disconcerting to say the least! One thing to note is that the Chrome Browser secures your passwords, so there isn't a problem recovering... I don't know about MS-Edge, Firefox, or others since I only use them if i need a back up to Chrome... Great meme quote BTW!

Sgt (Join to see) - I mostly use Firefox, but I have Seamonkey and Chrome on my computers. Some websites don't play well with all browsers, and if one gets corrupt you have a different one to get the needed files to do repairs.
