I was recommend to attend the CCC offered at WHINSEC as it is an all Spanish speaking course. I am a fluent Spanish speaker (read, write, speak, translate, etc), however, I am not fluent in both Spanish military jargon nor Infantry operational terms. My military career background is founded on the operations of the Patriot missile system and is very far from any Infantry tactics.

It is my understanding that this course is the same as the English version geared for Infantry and Armor Officers. I chose to attend this course to broaden my military understanding outside of Air Defense operations and to take advantage of studying with other officers out side of my branch, to include the international students.

What are some recommendations in terms of getting up to speed on what an Infantry Officer should know at this point in his/her career?

Sir get the Ranger hand book and FM 3-21.8 Infantry Squad and Platoon manual. I hope I was able to soften you up for the Infantry world a little before you went. Good luck I know you will do well. If you have any questions during the course let me know.

Honestly, didn’t even know that WHINSEC offered the Career Course. You learn something new every day. As someone who just finished MCCC I can tell you that you need to get very familiar with ATP 3-21.10 which is the new Infantry Rifle Company pub. The new MCCC curriculum essentially follows that throughout Company phase. As far as staff work get familiar with MDMP, the Operations Process and Mission Command. https://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/pdf/web/ARN8519_ATP%203-21x10%20Final%20Web.pdf

Additionally, I would recommend specifically focusing on the tactical side since non infantry and armor student are held to the same standards.
