I’m currently still inprocessing and my new unit is trying to send me downrange as a late deployer. Under the AMEDD portal, it says that phase 1 is all DL and it must be completed before I attend phase 2 (resident). If I am staying at my home station to complete phase 1 of ALC, is the unit authorized to send me down range?

You're asking if you can stay back from deployment because of Internet training? I hope you realize how ridiculous that sounds.

It's PME which is required in order to be eligible for promotion. I hope you realize how ridiculous you sound. If his promotion board comes around and he's not eligible due to deploying, and that happens enough to get him RCPed, what do you tell him then?

CW3 (Join to see) I tell him to get on the computer and do his training, just like every other Soldier in the Army who has to do SSD/DLC in order to be eligible for promotion. I completed an AA degree on deployment in Iraq. There is time to get computer access. 68W ALC phase 1 takes a weekend to complete.

Going to school is your priority. I don’t think your unit can. If your get rescheduled you will be behind your peers.

The unit can defer, but takes a GO signature. You will do Phase 1, but brace yourself to stay back if your Phase 2 date is right after deployment dates. Depends on what commander is willing to do.
