Has anyone commissioned as a nurse using G2G or would I still be risking commissioning into any branch as opposed to applying for the AECP which guarantees me going to a nurse position?

Yes, you can, you would just have to apply to an ROTC program at a school that has a nursing program. But, why would you do that when the AECP offers to let you do that on Active Duty without joining an ROTC program?

AECP has stricter requirements and from what I understand fewer slots open and is very competitive. Just trying to weigh out options and see which would guarantee me the quickest route to commissioning.

PFC (Join to see) the fastest way, with an almost guaranteed acceptance and the least benefits is G2G non scholarship, but you'll be a broke college kid in the National Guard and have to pay for your TA with your GI Bill

Nursing is a special program in the ROTC world. I'm not sure on the G2G rules specifically but ROTC cadets majoring in nursing and completing their degree in nursing are Assessed as Nurses and aren't subject to the branching process like other cadets.
