Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
I served as a squad leader in a Stryker brigade combat team. Our main area of operations was north of Camp Taji, but we spent 45 days in Sadr City, helping to erect the infamous wall.

I served as the permanent sergeant of the guard for the main gate at Kandahar Air Base. I was temporarily attached to the Illinois National Guard unit that was responsible for base operations.
