Three squadrons in five years. Learned so much at each one. Had four incredible commanders.
1983 - 1985
NCOIC, Squadron Ops/Acting 1st Sgt
Where I got the First Sergeant bug. Deployment to Germany required a Shirt and none of the Diamond Wearers were available (or wanted to do it). As an Acting 1st Sgt, I knew a bit about the job and a couple of the Diamond Wearers convinced me to take it on to see if I might be interested in it full time. I did; I was.
1981 - 1983
NCOIC, Flight Scheduling
Most demanding job of my career made just a bit easier by having an incredible group of folks to work with and for. Still miss this job!!
