I entered the service in 1978. Assignments included the Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne NJ, 92nd MP Co. in Baumholder FRG, and later the 401st MP Co. at Fort Hood TX. Duties included those of a squad leader, patrol supervisor, and III Corp desk sergeant. I ended my active military service at Ft. Hood, later serving as a Battalion NBC NCO for the Nevada National Guard. In 1987 I returned to Texas and started a new carrier as a San Antonio police officer. I just hit the 30-year mark in October 2017 and still enjoy the job most days.
