Dual Military (Marine Corps and now Army) Musician; twelve years into it via broken time (got out, went to college, came back a year after I got my degree). Been playing French Horn for roughly 27 years. Civilian ventures per se include security officer job experience, armorer work, and basic pistol instructor for the National Rifle Association. I also privately taught French horn on occasion.
