Team leader as part of a specialized unit responsible for maritime security of the 5th largest port area in the United States covering facilities in Greater Philadelphia PA, Camden NJ and Wilmington DE in a metropolitan area of over 5 million people. The team conducted at sea boarding of high interest vessels and MOTR vessels. Many of these boarding involved joint agency cooperation of numerous state and federal agencies. The team also monitored shoreside facility security at some of the largest petroleum and petrochemical facilities in the US as well as bulk cargo terminals over a three state area. Teams also patrolled the major bridges that span the Delaware River. This unit also provided law enforcement training to other Coast Guard units in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Led law enforcement teams responsible for security in the port that is the end of the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline. Tanker traffic in and out of the port transported 18% of the crude oil that is refined and used on the US West Coast. Operations involved joint operations with local, state, and other federal agencies. Led teams that boarded the tanker vessels as they entered and exited the port as well as operations at local shoreside facilities. Analyzed intelligence on inbound tankers and targeted which vessels to board to provide maximum security posture for the port. Collected, processed and disseminated intelligence to the Joint Terrorism Task Force and other local, state Federal agencies. Data and analysis maximized target patrol efforts over rugged terrain and harsh environment.

Coordinated search and rescue and law enforcement operations in a high tempo operational area. Efforts included planning patrol areas, port calls, and data collection. Supervised a 24 hour watch schedule to ensure operational coverage while the vessel was underway. Served as the Assistant Command Security Officer where he monitored communications, secured classified information, and managed encryption of multiple advanced communications platforms. Managed collection of intelligence and documentation or records for further analysis. Conducted operations in 9 foreign countries and territories (Bahamas, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, St Croix, St Maarten, British Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico). Worked extensively with members of the Royal Bahamian Defense Force.
