•Led the command’s mission for homeland defense, military support to civil agencies during emergencies or natural catastrophes, and partnerships with the armies of Mexico and Canada in the fight against Transnational Criminal Organizations. •Changed organizational culture from an administrative to an operational focus. •Built partnerships with federal agency leaders, state and local officials, National Guard leaders, private sector and non-governmental executives, and Congressional leaders. •Managed a $100 million dollar annual operating budget and a staff of 650 professionals. •As the senior commander at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, partnered with San Antonio city leaders, contractors, and Army officials to oversee management of $2.9 billion dollars of base realignment construction.
