Colonel Harrison enlisted in 1978, serving as an Orthopedic Technician and EMT with the 56th General Hospital in Germany and the 47th Field Hospital at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After serving as an NCO with the Ohio Army National Guard, he received a direct commission and concluded his service in the National Guard and Army Reserves with tours on Active Duty as a Border Officer and Cavalryman.
