Good evening Sgt.
"Influence operations have been the mainstay of counterinsurgency warfare for the last 16 years in the Middle East. The Corps will continue to need those skills sets to work with local populations in complex urban environments, to help shape public opinion and perception of ongoing U.S. military operations."
Does muscle memory kick in for 11, 12, or 14 man teams for the PFC? What happens when your new weapon with scope gets dinged? Bummer eh?
The drone idea is great. The counterinsurgency is a total failure. Because, we do not control the narrative. When one of ours beats the dog shit out of a child molester, the brass panics and sends them up the flag pole for not being nice and understandingggggg.
Screw the local populations. If you think they are going to be able to think past religious 7th century law, you are dumb as a post. (Not you Sgt)
What are we doing in urban anything? Get out of there and move to elevated ground. Secure a fortified position with support and run patrol. Pretty boys (special operators) can come and go from there with correct password. How many men on patrol this time GySgt? "Hold on, let's see."

PFC Simon Foster - I hope those scopes are on so tight, they can not be messed with. The weapon must be BZO'ed. Otherwise, the enemy will wonder if you need glasses.

They came up with these changes from doing Combat in mountains of Afghanistan, they needed drones for SQD, and had some over there, I saw them using them. Iraq was all MOUT and Three man fire team for some of those buildings would have been better. You can also split the SQD better for doing searches and covering each team on move. You have an even split with the Assistant SQDLDR.

4 man fireteam was an independent tactical unit. In real-life, typically the senior fireteam leader wore a second hat as squad leader (and so on down the line)
Contrary to popular belief, grunts ain’t stupid. There is no reason that a fireteam leader couldn’t wear another hat as tech-guru, which would be a qualification he’d have to achieve in order to be fireteam leader.
Then there’s always the ‘spare’ rifleman in the 4man team who could be the techie.
At any rate, a rifleman/leader, rifleman/grenadier, auto-rifleman, rifleman/techie still seems a more versatile tactical unit with the ability to hold it’s own & adjust according to the situation.
Following THAT logic, it stands that the rifle squad would ALSO be more versatile.
Since all grunts are going to the new weapon, how does sacrificing a man increase firepower in the team?
I think this is more of a way of adjusting to lower manpower than a sound tactical decision willingly entered into.
