As a transporter I loaded an awful lot of these. Slide 37, is the one that we lost during Desert Storm. I was the Squadron Ops Officer at Ramstein at the time and my squadron was responsible for loading the cargo and passengers on this plane.

Lt Col Charlie Brown familiar with that Air craft went to Germany on that in 1990 and caught Space -A on it many of times with the U.S. Army.

Great aircraft. While in college, 64-68, had an aeronautical engineering student friend who was in a co-op program with Lockheed. He worked on various C-5 components during his stints at Lockheed.

I recall an incident involving support for a USAF Thunderbird airshow. The Thunderbird team wanted to place the birds in a secure hanger prior to the airshow so the Jolly Green's (Pararescue) were kicked out and the Thunderbirds moved in. A couple of days after the airshow we received a nasty letter from the Thunderbird commander who was not pleased that their aircraft had been modified with Jolly Green Giant logos.
