I think this should of happened a few years back but I understand why it didn't. In the NG it sometimes becomes a real problem with people creating stagnation and good troops get out before their time.

It is not true, I met a lot of young men that were in the NG. One of the reason they would get out is because it interfere with jobs. They couldn't go to school because of the Summer traning.

Before 9/11 I offered to reenlist in the NG if they could find me a E-5 slot anywhere in the state. They could not..fast forward after 9/11 and deployments they had plenty of NCO slots as the guys just marking time retired rather than deploy.
