Promoted to MSgt. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL. Now do better than I did. 5.5 years TIG when I retired. But everyone will not go out as a E8 or E9 and that was me. Seriously Congratulation Guys.

I was surprised to learn that most retire at E-6. Seemed to me that "most" of my friends were e-7s though. Don't know what it is today.

MSgt. Promotions are a little srrange. I had a friend that was promoted to E6 while I was a E5 then I was transfered to where he was and I was a E7 and him a E6 still. Another was a E5 and I was a EF when I first met him. Next time I saw him he was still a E5 and I was a E6. Needless to say he didn't hang around to talk over old times. It would be interesting to know what average rank is when they retire. Used to be a hit and miss or whatever they were going by during that cycle.
