The news played his interview over and over and it was clear he was at Footlocker at Cielo Vista Mall, where the shooting initially came out as being. The actual shooting was down the street at the Walmart. You can see the mall behind him, not Walmart. I know because I have shopped at both of them. He did jump into soldier mode and start taking care of others but he was not under fire and at a different location. I imagine the soldier is quite embarrassed to what this has become as there is no indication he was ever at the location of the shooting. His interview happened at the mall before news came out at the site of the actual location that it was over. I do not post this to discredit a fellow soldier, I do so because if I was in his shoes, I would be very embarrassed how this has blown up.
