They fit my face well and don't move around thanks to the included band and plastics. I am asking because a SGT asked me if they were under regulation, and I wasn't sure because I don't know how the army defines "Conservative" eyeglasses.

If they are issue glasses they only folks that will give you hard time may be your COC, just look up the reg and carry a copy of the pertinent section and when asked respectfully explain and show the individual the reg. A good leader will look, read and tell you to drive on, a bad one will lose their minds, chew you out and turn it into the inquisition, buckle up and drive on :). The units don't always know the latest issue carp and there is an adjustment period, eventually they will move on to something else when the update loads in their heads :)

Don't understand- if they are issue items, then why the question- does the description say - "field use only"?

There was no description/notes when I received the glasses. I just got them with my normal pair of issued glasses, so I assumed they were "AR 670-1 Approved", but reading the actual regulation on eyewear it is hard for me to defend the argument of whether they are approved or not, SGM.

I've only seen Soldiers wear them during PT and airborne Ops. Your CoC are the ones that will say yes or no though.
