It was almost a full month after my ERB said SPC that I was finally pinned, kept on joking (partially serious) of just putting it on and my NCOIC made it clear that you dont do that because someone somewhere up the chain will get their panties in a wad of "breaking tradition".

I am all for the tradition, but if a soldier of mine ever had to wait that long I would be having them wear it, a week or two isnt bad because the company could be waiting for paper work or time/place to hold formation.

I’d talk to my first line. Some commands like to do the pinning ceremonies and don’t take kindly to people doing it themselves regardless of what their ERB or LES says.
