If you are eligible for the SFC promotion board, based on the MILPER message, will I be notified via email from HRC or is it automatic?

The announcement for the SFC board is out and I meet the qualifying criteria to be eligible for the board. My question is, am I notified via an email from HRC that I am being considered, or is it automatic if I meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the MILPER Message?

The MILPER message will come out and if you meet the Time in Grade and Time in Service requirements identified then that is your green light to start getting your Bord File together. MBF should open up automatically.
Additionally, your S1 should be notified or do their own search of eligible SSGs in your unit and they can send out a notification. But ultimately, getting your board file together and ensuring your records are straight are on you.

SSG (Join to see) Anytime! I know it was a stressful time. Make sure your records are straight and your DA Photo is good to go! Those weight in big on the boards. For some insight, check out the last few years of Selection Board AARs

SSG (Join to see) you’ll find them on the HRC Page in the Senior Enlisted Promotions section. Click on the list you want to view and it’ll show options like sequence number, promotion orders, by names list and under that you should be able to select the year and the selection board results. The AAR is in that area. Same place you’ll find the Board MILPER memo

You should receive an email stating that your board file is open. If you can't open it on the date it's supposed to be open, and you know you meet all qualifications, then you'll need to email the promotion branch email on the MILPER message

Check out your "board file" from HRC portal. If it is available to you then you're eligible; otherwise, next year promotion board.
