All Army NCOs one thing about change that does not change - it is inevitable (unless you are standing at a vending machine). The old NCOES has been renamed the new NCO Professional Development System (NCOPDS). There are now six Structured Self-Development Distance Learning Courses. The SSD I – VI is now divided up among four groups – Basic (SSD I & II), Intermediate (SSD III), Advanced (SSD IV & V) and Executive (SSD VI). There are now six resident NCOPDS Courses: Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Master Leader Course, Sergeants Major Course, and Executive Leader Course.
Select-Train-Educate-Promote (STEP) is the roadmap NCOs must follow to get promoted.
What are your thoughts about the new STEP and NCOPDS Model?

Renaming courses and creating all these new courses and DL material shows me that some people's job relies upon the change. This also holds true with uniforms and the physical fitness. My question is whether these individuals all work in the same building or are they scattered across the army?

CSM (Join to see) thanks for the post, I wish you were my CSM when I was in, I would be in good shape to make the next grade. Awesome read and more importantly great advice for promotion.

I'll hold my critique until after the dust has settled but right now I don't think its actually achieving the goals it was intended to.
