I call BS/Shenanigans, a CSM with no Headgear outdoors, no PT belt, No bottomless cup of liquid death and finally he was able to speak in complete sentences after graduation form the SMA. In addition everyone knows you never see a CSM when you step on the grass, you hear them from 300meters away and by the time you are off the grass you are at Parade rest as they question you for your unit, Chain of Command all while pulling your soul out of your body like a platoon of Dementors.

Fitness training is a highly individualized event
I never avail myself to the techniques the sergeant major describes but hey if it works for him

Lol

And all this time I thought it was due to time spent in the gym. I am obviously doing the wrong things.

I believe with Officers, you modify the routine. You have to do a more subtle two finger hand sweep/gesture and say "Sergeant Major (or First Sergeant) Fix That" then stomp away. It's less of a core workout, then an aerobic one
