I dont fully understand how it works I saw the list for promotion to sgt come out today and the points for my most. And I was wondering do I have to make the point on the list that's out now as of the October numbers to pin Nov 1st or do i have to wait for the new numbers to post. i have yet to get a clear answer? Thank you in advance...

Please don’t take this the wrong way, have you talked with your NCO to have him/her to explain the promotion process to you? Have you been to an E5 promotion board? Have you researched the regulation that covers and explains Enlisted Promotions (600-8-19)?

You are on the verge of becoming a leader. Review the very same regulations that (I hope you studied) studied for the board and find your answer. I am sure you have a study guide in your HQ, and a smart phone. Life is good you have the world at your finger tips. It is a technology that serves you far better than the manual research of the past. Don’t let others find it for you, be the leader that knows! Look up Be, Know, and do! It sounds corny but it is effective. Thank you for your service.
