People are using the fact that there is not much to do in Fort Riley to justified these individual's actions. Wrong, I was stationed there for 4 years and we (soldiers) never got to be this disrespectful, stupid and disregard for Army's common courtesy to others and order. Everyone, please "STOP" making excuses for these standards violator and handle them some good UCMJ actions that goes with some restrictions (6 months) and deferments pay. These are not soldiers, they are "Gang Members" and should be treated as such and action should be taking the same as done previously with gang related incidents. Some are qualified for some rank reduction ie>> E4 SPC to PFC, PFC to E2 and so on. NCOs where were you when this crap was going on??, CQ what were you doing when this happened??? Now is the time to stop the BS and hold someone accountable, being young is no excuse for being disrespectful and a violator of army drinking policy. Fort Riley use to have the "Retraining Brigade" Army needs to bring such program back...... I am MAD as hell to see the Army that I served for over 30 years being disrespected, drag through the ground and shame over and over.. FT Riley should make an example of this individuals as need to. You asked why I am so hard on these looser? well, think about these individual's parents position. They (parents) believe that their son/daughters are in good hand by being in the service and here they are acting as describe in the article. How would a chain of command explains to a parent if his/her son/daughter die of alcohol poison or due to a alcohol related incident/accident???? NCOs TAKE BACK YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXERCISE YOUR DUTIES AS A LEADER OF SOLDIERS.....

After reading the article, I believe that action should be taken against all of them. It said a single marijuana cigarette was found, did they already smoke some? They should have all been drug tested asap... The ones that were under age knew that drinking was against the law off base, the older ones should have

Hit send before finished. Older individuals should have known better. NCO's need to have a better handle on the lower enlisted.

This is the new low stress army where you can’t hurt ones feelings. I am glad I retired when I did. I was taught by Vietnam Vets when I was young and I carried on what I learned from them dealing with soldiers. It’s a shame what has happened to my army.

Good morning CSM, how are you doing? I agree with you 100% on the extra duty, restriction, and reduction part. But on the other hand, this incident was out of the NCOs and CQ hands since the incident happened off base where civilian law enforcement had to get involved and issue citations or charges. As a NCO, I'm not going to babysit a grown ass man/woman especially if they are 18+ years of age. I will treat them like adults and hold their feet to the fire. It's impossible to monitor personnel actions 24/7/365+1 every 4 years. These guys put the spotlight on themselves. When they ask for rain, they have to deal with the mud that comes with it.

Well, since wall to wall counseling is frowned upon these days, it looks like a large paper trail and lots of wasted hours from our leaders to fix this mess. No questions asked, line all 25 up and discharge now.

I agree, discharge them with a dishonorable discharge. I had several hard a** first sgt that would have kicked their butts before it even got this far.

SSG Edward Tilton - They are the ones who are ruining their lives!! I agree with the "Do the paperwork and kick them out!" This type of behavior would not have been acceptable back when I was in and shouldn't be acceptable in anyway now!!!

This is what happens when the NCO is not properly engaged with their soldiers, but then again you have those bull-headed soldiers who think their way is the better way, these 25 soldiers need to be made an example that this behavior should not or ever be tolerated, hate to say it but this Army is going soft, just a personal observation.

I will give you thumbs up, but this has nothing to do with NCO being properly engaged. I understand that we are a Soldier 24/7 while under contract, but what people fail to understand is, 1. We are not in a lockdown environment.... 2. In garrison after that 1630 1700 final release formation of the day, Soldiers leave the team and become individuas that have to make adult decisions on their own whether it be right or wrong. Once again, it's impossible to oversee our personnel actions 24/7.
