Would you let an E-5 with proven results in squad leadership but with multiple financial counseling’s be your interm Company commander?

Just want to hear people’s thoughts. As a young NCO I believed I could take charge and run everything. All while having a lot of fun partying and getting into financial debt but still believed I could do it. But boy did higher experience knock me off of my high horse. What’s your thoughts? Do you think an E-5 could run an entire battalion consisting of people that may be better suited for the position?

Not until that person performed a cranial-rectal extraction. Then got a commission. Then earned their way up to BN Command as an Officer.

Is this a serious question?

i noticed that your response was strictly officer enlisted. As we all know military is about rank. and if they want him t be company commander than obviously he/she is a hell of an enlisted man. Maybe he is the highest ranking person in that command and maybe the higher ups see that he has the quality to lead the others. Can we agree that some positions are temporary a this one is. It is truly an honor to be chosen or recommended for such a position besides it would be nice to see how and enlisted noncommission officer handles the responsibility

Sgt Stephanie Stewart - Because I have been playing this game long enough to know that there is never going to be a chance where an Enlisted person will be placed in command. Not until that Enlisted became an Officer. It will never happen. The powers that be would place an Officer from some other location (if there are no other Officers left in the unit) in Interim Command.

so your convinced and being in the military isn't a game. What about during a conflict? i do agree with the fact that an officer when he/she arrives will replace the sgt but can u except the fact that the sgt is in charge? the title is noncommission officer.

MSG (Join to see) - not always true. doesn't happen anymore but there have been many times where a battlefield commission was given. My father in law got a battlefield commission during WWII. That said, they're not going to give it to an E5 unless he is the last man standing.

not a chance in hell. I don't care how "high speed" an E5 is, they just don't have the experience, and in most cases the maturity, to run a Company. That said, I was HHC Commander as an E7 during AT one summer but only because I had already been approved for commission by the State board and was just waiting on FEDREC. I actually drove down to troop command HQ for the FEDREC board during the middle of AT. Left a SFC and came back a 2LT.

Sgt Jordan Foster - 1. you said there were multiple financial counselings. the negative is implied. 36 years and I've never seen or heard of anyone getting a positive financial counseling. lol
2. OCS is like BCT. In BCT you have drill SGTs that are E5-E7. In OCS you have TACs that are LTs or CPTs. at WOCS they have TACs that are CW2 or CW3.

Sgt Stephanie Stewart - what part of MULTIPLE is so hard for you to understand? And no one recognized his ability to lead. this is a purely hypothetical question and you're adding crap to it in an attempt to justify your opinion. geez louis....

Ok so a E-5 can make you an officer but cannot lead them? Not to argue just don’t understand the officer mind set as to where it changes from respecting E-5s to them being beneath you. The negative was never implied given your prior experience maybe but you created that sir not me.LTC (Join to see)

Sgt Jordan Foster - an E5 cannot make you an officer. all the TACs at OCS are officers. there may be a couple of NCOs that teach one specific class but that's it.
as for the financial, can you give me a single example of where anyone in the history of the military has ever gotten a positive financial counseling? lol

Would not even try. Part of being a leader is knowing your limitations and asking for help when needed. As an E-5 I knew my area but would leave running the rest to higher ranks.
