Turning the clock back on My promotion to SMSgt with My wife Joanne sliding the rank insignia for E8 over my right shoulder and Colonel Moore, Director of Security Police at Headquarters Air Force Systems Command, Andrews AFB, MD on the left shoulder. This ceremony was at Hanscom AFB, MA with the 3245th Security Police Squadron. Also in that ceremony Nicolas Zallas was promoted to Major and liked what I did and had His wife and Colonel Moore do the same thing I had done. He was prior enlisted and rose to the rank of MSgt before getting an age waiver to be commissioned a 2nd Lt. He retired as a Full Colonel.

I remember Col Nick Zallas. He retired as group commander at Hanscom. The SFS eventually became the 66th SFS. I was there from 2000-2005 while working for the commander and command chief of Electronic Systems Center. Miss that place!

SMSgt Blake, When I had returned from Vietnam in 1969 the unit was the 3245th SPS, many years alter when i again was at Hanscom AFB it did become the 66th SPS then later 66th SFS when I retired. Many years later I then worked an armed Federal Contract at Hanscom. That certainly was a Base I had spent a lot of time serving at. Colonel Zallas had after the SPS unit served as 66th Air Base Group Deputy Commander and as You said later as Group Commander.
