How do I update my rank in outlook to reflect my current grade?

It is fed from the Integrated Personnel and Pay System. It will update automatically but it may take up to a month. You should also make sure your mil connect is updated.

Well that makes sense, thanks sir. Its only been 5 days but for some reason I seem to remember it taking a while when I made SGT so I was wondering if there was a way to do it manually.

CPT (Join to see) Hey sir I was promoted to SSG in January of last year, and it shows in IPPS-A and MilConnect that I am a SSG, but whenever I log on to my GOV computer, it shows my rank as SGT. Shouldn't that update with MilConnect? Email shows as correct, but again whenever I log onto a GOV computer, it shows SGT. Thank sir.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - I don't know if you got the answer to this or not, but the structure of your displayed name when you log into a DoD domain-joined computer is stored in your Active Directory account. Put in a ticket with your local S6 or NEC to have your rank updated in your AD account. Once the ticket is in the hands of the technician, it's literally a 30 second process to change your display name and the change will be effective once you log off and log back on.

MAJ(P) (Join to see) hey sir I got it fixed. It had something to do with a system account. When I called help desk they got me straightened out.

Global Address List (GAL) and Personnel Information
Q: How do I update my information in the Global Address List (GAL)?
A: Sponsors can update information that appears in the Global Address List (GAL) by using milConnect's Update and View My Profile feature (you'll be asked to log in if you haven't already).
To change the way your name appears in the GAL:
Select the Personal Information tab.
Click Edit next to "Display Name for GAL."
Edit your name according to the instructions in the Display Name for DoD Global Address List (GAL) window.
Click Preview to preview your changes.
Click Save and Submit to save your changes.
To update other GAL information (such as Job Title, Duty Address, or Phone):
Select a Persona tab (such as CIV, CTR, or MIL).
Change appropriate editable information.
Click Submit to save your changes.

SSG(P) Jake Lewis You may first try upgrading you RP first & see if that does it.Go to your profile page by clicking on your picture in the top right hand. Click on Profile. Click on EDIT in top right hand corner of your Profile page & update your grade. If this doesn't work...goggle "Outlook current military rank change.
