Actually, the promotion percentage has been in the 40's 7 of the last 10 years. This isn't even the highest of those 10 years, this is pretty on par.

SSgt Ryan Sylvester - I'm pretty sure I just made Staff. And I've been out for 16 years...LOL! Just joking. Congrats to them. I know one of the big complaints is promotion/stagnation in the ranks. This was one of the first things they did to try to settle the retention issues they've been facing for about the same time.

SSgt (Join to see) - Yeah, but we knew that going in. AF is the slowest to promote. That said, there's also a reason we sew our rank on our sleeves... you have to be a Class A screw-up to lose it once you get it.

SSgt Ryan Sylvester - Ain't that the truth. Although, I saw 2 instances while I was in Minot. A couple of guys were watching a site while maintenance worked on the missile. They got bored & saw hay bales in the field next to the site. They decided it would be a great idea to go push them around in their vehicle. They would've gotten away with it, if their front license plate hadn't dislodge & stuck in one of the bales. Both cut from A1C to AB.
