LTC David Brown - Colonel; The terms "accessory before the fact" and "aiding and abetting" come to mind.

Hell of a Situation, Isn't it. Of Course it is Illegal, Immoral and Most Definitely "Torture" but obviously some folks don't have Moral Issues with it. They are Amoral or Immoral.

The law has loop holes, during the bush administration it was illegal but only within the confines of the United States which is why we had detention facilities in neutral territory.

SPC Michael Mullins - Spec; Actually "torture of prisoners" is legally recognized as a "War Crime" and is illegal almost everywhere. It does happen to be illegal in Cuba under Cuban law - even if done on a US military base. It was also illegal under the local law of everyplace that the US had detention facilities - but the US government was successfully able to negotiate SOFAs that exempted US personnel from the local law (and the US does not recognize the jurisdiction of the World Court which was set up to conduct prosecutions where the "responsible" government either could not or would not conduct them).
