This guy is well protected. He can't go anywhere or it effects the Left's campaign on gun control. He is a tick that will need special attention.

LTC (Join to see) - Touché Sir, but in his case....the pendulum swings both ways. He can do a lot of harm to both sides, and as much as I dislike what I've read and heard.....he's a cop. The Line has to protect him (which usually coincides with the right), and the local legislators "should" want him removed, which would like you said swing left. No winners here, and I see no way to remove him at this time. I'd be VERY interested to see if anyone on RP is in Florida and is up on the legalese in regards to this, or are we going to have to wait for another election for Sheriff?

Apparently, there is a Florida State Statute that addresses this and allows the governor to relieve/fire a sheriff for cause.

MSgt George Cater - Thank you. I'm not a resident, and the Governor needs to relieve him for cause before another cause happens on his watch.

It sounds like politicos are looking for someone to scapegoat and throw under the bus to appease the base. One perp LEO had been a long time member of the dept and was a model employee as far as everyone knows. Give the investigations time to play out to see what lies at the heart of the matter and then, if necessary, get new leadership to clean house..
