It remains to be seen what will happen. While a few Republicans and FOX personnel have suggested that the call was wrong, there are not enough to suggest that this effort will yield the results the Dems wish. Our Senator for Wisconsin said the President was wrong in his "perfect" conversation but that that did not constitute grounds for impeachment. If the Democrats do impeach the President and the President is acquitted as has been the case with every President in the past, this could backfire on the Democrats in 2020. There is no doubt in my mind, at this point in time, that the outrage by Trump supporters will cause them to overwhelm the polls. The Democrats will have a hard time matching that swell in votes and could very well have some of their members defeated in marginal districts.
